A Bit About Me

Everybody has a story, don't we?  Mines starts in 1997 - when I started in Reading & Bates in Aberdeen, United Kingdom.  I did 2 weeks in Accounting, was offered a job in Materials, and after a year there - the 1998 downturn in full swing - I was moved to IT (against my will at the time).

From there I transferred to Houston in 2000, then to Brasil after that.  Transocean SedcoForex at the time took over R&B Falcon and I was transferred to work for Aberdeen for a short period, and then to our Paris office where I ended up being a Roving IT Supervisor for circa 32 Rigs and 6-8 satellite offices.

In 2010 after being approached by Pacific Drilling, I said goodbye to my Transocean friends and off I went.

In 2021, Noble Drilling took over Pacific Drilling and I decided it was time to open LKaytcH IT.

What's with the name LKaytcH you're wondering?  Well its a long boring story - but my step-sons are called Karim and Hisham.  I'm called Lee.  So L K H - pretty much pronounced "LKaytcH" when you say it out loud!  Why "common sense IT"?  Well check out my LinkedIn Profile - a recommendation from a Drilling Operations Manager literally quotes that I have a "common sense approach which isn't very common amongst IT people" and it's always stuck in my head.  And it's true, I have a no-nonsense, this is how we'll get it done approach to the job...  As everyone that recommends me will attest to, I end up being a Rig's/Vessel's/Site's "go to IT technology geeky stuff guy" when they want results, prompt assistance and a full service including following up to make sure it's all good afterwards.
